I posted a couple of days ago about coming off anti-depressants. I felt great. The last couple of days… not so much!
In trying to raise awareness of issues around mental health I think it’s important to be honest. That means being able to highlight when things aren’t feeling great, and to show that managing mental health and recovery isn’t a linear process and isn’t always straightforward. Each of our stories is unique to us, and we need to find what works for us.
Will I need to go back onto tablets? Who knows. But I do know this: for anybody that’s struggled with their mental health, with greater self-awareness and an understanding of what we need to do to look after ourselves, we can accept the inevitable challenges along the way and trust that we can deal with them.
After all, we’ve come this far!
